In September 2003 Red Herring relaunched its online presence, publishing more than 1500 stories in the past year. Editor-in-Chief Joel Dreyfuss said that Red Herring is reintroducing the print version of the publication to address multiple content channels.
"No matter how digital our lifestyles have become, there is still something special about holding a magazine in your hands," he said. "Magazines are fabulous information devices: completely portable, with unlimited battery life and image quality that far exceeds the best electronic displays available today."
The print edition will complement the Web site with stories that are more detailed and analytical. Online, Red Herring will continue to provide timely and more immediate information.
"We know that Red Herring readers are technology-savvy," said Dreyfuss, who sees the magazine, the Web, PDAs, blogs and other digital products as components of a full spectrum of ways to reach the Red Herring audience.
With an initial audience of highly targeted executives from the director level to the C-Suite who are building, buying or investing in technology, Red Herring is once again the most desirable book for advertisers to reach a powerful audience.
"Ten years after its initial launch, a remarkable team is working hard to serve our readers," said Alex Vieux, Publisher and CEO.
